Bring hope and restoration to women re-entering society after incarceration.
Women struggling to emerge from the darkness of addiction and incarceration are being drawn to the light shone by New Community. These women often grapple with the damaging circumstances resulting from trauma, addiction and abuse. Many of them have children who are affected as well.
Who is New Community?
New Community seeks to cultivate meaningful and trusting relationships which build a faith-based foundation for life. Weekly gatherings, dinner and Bible study promote spiritual and social renewal among women in Omaha who are pursuing successful reentry into society.

One of the most important factors in rebuilding a life is connectedness. This connectedness happens around delicious meals with guided conversation and mentor groups focusing on the truth of the Scriptures applied to life. Programs for children and teens of reentering women are offered at the same time. Peer leadership is encouraged, hence the slogan of New Community is “Women in Need of Change Helping Women in Need of Change.”
